Segmentation Fault while Running Perl Applications

Postby tsdesai7 » Tue Mar 15, 2016 8:39 am

Hi All,

My Web applications are in Perl .Its on Se Linux . Every time i run the Perl application, i get Segmentation fault in the error logs. i have checked the audit log which gives below error and on the browser it gives me Connection Reset Error.

type=ANOM_ABEND msg=audit(1458030994.950:14281): auid=4294967295 uid=48 gid=48 ses=4294967295 subj=system_u:system_r:httpd_t:s0 pid=5909 comm="/var/www/html" reason="memory violation" sig=11

I am not sure where to start debugging this.

I have spent ages trying to figure how what could be the cause of the problem.

Any suggestion much appreciated.

Many Thanks,
tsdesai7

Try "setsebool -P httpd_execmem"

type=anom_abend messages are not SELinux messages although they *may* indicated an selinux issue.

if you can reproduce the issue (in a safe environment) then you can reproduce the issue in permissive mode. If the application still does not work in permissive mode , then selinux is not involved. if the application works in permissive mode but not in enforcing mode then selinux may be involved.

I suspect that this is not an selinux issue since there seem to be no type=avc denials
